Chirpy is a Batbird which was created by Helen’s son Cameron when he was five years old as part of his school homework. He was to venture into the woods and create a dual-animal creature with an adult. Helen was inspired to write a poem about Cameron’s Batbird then had the poem turned into a book. Six other dual-animal creatures were created by Helen and her illustrator, Sofania, with the intention to encourage children to leave their ipads at home and go outdoors and explore the world around them
